Python Belgrade #56: Asyncio Tricks and Python in the Humanities

September 6, 2024

This Friday, CDT HUB hosted the 56th Python Belgrade meetup, where participants had the opportunity to attend some highly interesting lectures.

The first lecture, titled "Asyncio: basics, mistakes, hints and tricks", was given by Nikolai Sviridov, Developer Advocate at ITism. Sviridov provided attendees with a detailed introduction to the Asyncio library, a powerful tool for managing asynchronous I/O operations in Python. The lecture covered fundamental concepts, common mistakes developers often make, as well as practical tips and tricks for efficiently using Asyncio's functionality.

The second lecture, titled "Python and the Digital Humanities: A Symbiotic Relationship", was delivered by Mikhail Bukhtoyarov, Associate Professor. Bukhtoyarov discussed the intersection of Python and the digital humanities, a field that leverages computational tools to analyze and interpret human culture. The talk sparked a discussion on the growing significance of technology in the humanities.

We would like to thank all the participants and speakers for their excellent presentations, and we look forward to future gatherings with our friends from the Python Belgrade community.
