Tonight’s Python Belgrade meetup at CDT HUB was all about nature, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Information about hiking events, which until recently were scattered across club websites, forums, and social networks, now has a centralized home thanks to an innovative solution presented by Damir Čičić, Advanced Software Engineer at Zühlke Group.

Through an engaging and hands-on presentation, Damir demonstrated how he built a platform using FastAPI, JavaScript, and the OpenAI API, enabling AI to scrape, structure, and visualize data about hiking activities.

He also shared his vision for the future of the platform — evolving into a social network for nature lovers, connecting people through their shared passion for hiking and the outdoors.
